About The Position

Maintains a perpetual inventory record of Title I material, equipment, supplies and other general stock items. The job will entail working primarily at each of the Title I school level sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Computer data entry experience and the ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail, and database software (or a willingness to learn word processing and spreadsheet programs)
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Accuracy
  • at time of appointment, possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a perpetual inventory record of Title I material, equipment, supplies and other general stock items.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships with department, purchasing department, school site personnel, and outside vendors.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures to perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for according to Title I requirements.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills and ability to utilize technology to report discrepancies between physical counts and computer records in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Demonstrates strong autonomous time-management skills, acts with discretion, and consistently contributes to a healthy, supportive workplace culture.
  • Developing or improving upon inventory management procedures.
  • Ensure that work is carried out to specification.
  • Compile, classify, collate, and organize information.
  • Maintains electronic and paper records to submit inventory control reports to Title I Supervisor.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding products and inventories as well as train other employees in asset inventory management .
  • Maintain records of merchandise received and transferred, as well as Title I surplus.
  • Inspect inventory for defects, wear or damage, and report information to Title I supervisor.
  • Assists with annual physical inventory audits.
  • Assists with reconciling annual school-level audits.
  • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
  • Performs other duties related to Title I as assigned.
