About The Position

Mid Valley Disposal is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to support our fleet and equipment maintenance operations. This role is responsible for accurately tracking, ordering, and distributing parts and supplies while ensuring inventory levels support daily maintenance activities. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced shop environment. This position plays a critical role in keeping our fleet running efficiently by supporting mechanics, supervisors, and vendors through strong inventory control and administrative support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 1 year of experience in inventory control, data entry, or maintenance operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems
  • Ability to identify, catalog, and organize fleet and vehicle parts
  • Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 25 lbs
  • Frequent exposure to dust, noise, extreme heat or cold, and waste materials
  • Occasional exposure to heights, confined spaces, and chemicals

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of vehicle or fleet parts and maintenance processes strongly preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for fleet parts and shop supplies
  • Enter and update parts usage in inventory management systems in real time
  • Conduct routine cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and assist with annual audits
  • Receive incoming parts, assign proper storage locations, and update stock levels
  • Create, track, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Support the Fleet Manager and Supervisors by maintaining parts availability for scheduled maintenance
  • Label, organize, and store incoming parts and supplies correctly
  • Maintain repair files and inventory transaction records
  • Assist with documentation of vehicle and equipment maintenance history
  • Support compliance audits, including safety records and tank inspections
  • Proactively communicate inventory shortages, excess stock, or vendor issues
  • Provide timely and efficient parts support to internal maintenance personnel
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order status, returns, and discrepancies
  • Participate in safety meetings and required training
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
