About The Position

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing inventory performance across the supply chain. This role leverages data to drive informed decisions related to stock levels, inventory classification, and material flow between locations. The Inventory Analyst plays a key role in reducing excess and obsolete inventory, improving service levels, and ensuring alignment between supply and demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain analytics, or a related role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze inventory performance across branches and develop recommendations to optimize stock levels and availability.
  • Own analysis and reporting as well identifying end markets for disposal of excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory, recommending corrective actions, and tracking progress.
  • Manage and evaluate vendor returns, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Oversee and optimize material exchanges between locations to ensure efficient inventory balancing and demand fulfillment.
  • Lead quarterly reviews of inventory letter code classifications, making data-driven recommendations based on demand patterns, velocity, and business priorities.
  • Monitor branch inventory levels and proactively recommend repositioning strategies to mitigate shortages and excess.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance inventory reports and dashboards to provide visibility into key performance metrics (e.g., turnover, service levels, days of supply).
  • Partner with procurement, planning, and operations teams to align inventory strategies with business objectives.
  • Ensure data integrity within ERP and reporting systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory efficiency and reduce carrying costs.
