About The Position

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for overseeing all inventory management, material handling, and procurement support activities within the onsite storeroom at the customer’s facility. This role ensures that parts, supplies, and materials are accurately stocked, readily available, and efficiently managed to support the customer’s operations. The position serves as the primary liaison between the customer’s production and materials teams and Essex Brownell’s supply chain organization.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with inventory management or ERP systems. Knowledge of QAD preferred, cycle counting experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, storeroom operations, or supply chain/logistics.
  • Experience working within a customer’s facility or in an MRO/industrial environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (forklift certification a plus).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Certification in inventory management (e.g., CPIM)

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the onsite storeroom, ensuring accurate inventory levels and timely replenishment of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system, including receipts, issues, returns, and cycle counts.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to forecast material needs and prevent stockouts.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials in accordance with company and customer standards.
  • Implement and sustain best practices in inventory control, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in periodic physical inventories to ensure data accuracy.
  • Monitor usage trends, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and recommend adjustments to stock levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customer personnel and supply chain team.
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety policies and environmental regulations.
  • Provide reporting on inventory metrics, stock accuracy, and performance KPIs.
