Main responsibilities: The COS Purchasing Analyst is responsible for analyzing vendor programs, cost scenarios, and inventory strategies to optimize purchasing decisions for distribution centers. This role ensures cost efficiency, leverages vendor deals, and supports replenishment strategies across multiple distribution centers. Analyze Center of Store items sold in grocery stores and determine which should be purchased in larger quantities for distribution centers to leverage lower vendor costs. Evaluate situations where vendor allowances are nearing the end of a deal and recommend whether the COS replenishment team should purchase larger quantities at the lower cost before the next vendor deal begins. Analyze and determine whether to purchase larger quantities for each distribution center before a vendor cost increase. Review vendor proposals for extended payment terms and communicate recommendations to the team on whether to take advantage of these terms. Assess vendor proposals for incentive buys within vendor-specific portfolios. Collaborate with distribution to confirm DC capacity and send clear communication and instructions to the team on timing, quantities, and steps for executing the incentive buy. We are looking for candidates who possess the following: We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in merchandising, replenishment, or purchasing analysis Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; experience with ERP systems a plus Key Accountabilities Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate cost scenarios, vendor deals, and inventory flow. Negotiation Skills: Skilled in securing favorable vendor terms and bridging deals. Communication: Clear written and verbal communication for instructions and cross-functional alignment. Collaboration: Work effectively with merchandising, replenishment, distribution, and vendor teams. Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships across departments and with external partners. Requirements
