About The Position

The Intramural Sports Official is responsible for assisting in the administration of the Intramural Sports Program by officiating intramural contests. This position is paramount for effective on-site operations of the program. Candidates will develop their ability to problem solve by utilizing critical thinking and decision-making skills. Additionally, candidates will learn to effectively communicate with a diverse population in order to enforce program rules and policies.

Requirements

• Work availability on evenings and Sundays.
• Thorough knowledge and interest in one or more team sports.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to accept and apply constructive criticism.

Nice To Haves

• Previous officiating or playing experience in team sports preferred.

Responsibilities

• Officiate various intramural contests, utilizing program specific rules and philosophies.
• Assist with set-up and teardown of intramural sites.
• Attend pre-season rules meetings and trainings.
• Complete on-going rules quizzes and evaluations, as assigned.
• Report injuries and/or incidents to the intramural supervisor.
• Develop positive relationship with the participants.
