Intramural Coordinator
About The Position
The VCU Recreation and Well-Being (RecWell) Intramural Coordinator is responsible for the administration and management of dynamic intramural program areas that align with the mission of RecWell to advance student success by empowering the VCU community to prioritize well-being, connect with others, and learn through play. The Intramural Coordinator is part of the Sport Programs team and reports to the Assistant Director for Sport Programs. The Intramural Coordinator will provide creative direction to existing programs to include flexible and innovative programming across multiple levels, both recreational and competitive. The primary responsibilities of this position encompass a wide variety of project and program-based management, personnel management, budget development and monitoring, facility operations, risk management, policy and procedures development, and program assessment and evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Health and Physical Education, Higher Education Administration, or related field
- At least two (2) years of experience in administering an intramural program
- Ability to work regular evening and weekend rotations during the semester
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively
- Demonstrated experience in personnel management and ability to motivate students
- Knowledge of best practices and standards in collegiate recreation
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Health and Physical Education, Higher Education Administration, or related field
- American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification.
- Experience using FusionIM or IMLeagues.
