About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring an Interventional Tech for the Cath Lab located in Norfolk, Virginia. The department boasts high employee satisfaction and low turn-over, indicating a positive work environment. This full-time position involves performing complex invasive interventional procedures, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or interventional procedures, under the direction of a qualified physician. The role requires adherence to interventional and procedural policies and protocols, patient and family education, safe operation of equipment, and completion of department documentation. The technologist is also responsible for maintaining clean and operational equipment and ensuring an adequate supply of inventory for examinations. Participation in departmental performance improvement activities is also expected. The work schedule is 36 hours per week, consisting of 4 (9-hour) shifts, with some call required. A sign-on bonus is available for this role.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography
  • BLS certification
  • RCIS or RCES certification
  • ACLS will be required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • CI/NIR (Neuro Interventional Radiography) certification
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VIR) certification or experience
  • ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex invasive interventional procedures such as diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician while adhering to interventional and procedural policies and protocols
  • Provides patient and family education
  • Operates equipment safely
  • Completes department documentation
  • Maintains all equipment to be clean and operational
  • Maintains adequate supply of inventory for performing examinations
  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities
