About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring an Interventional Tech for the Cath Lab located in Norfolk, Virginia. The department boasts high employee satisfaction and low turnover, indicating a positive work environment. This full-time position involves performing complex invasive interventional procedures, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, under the direction of a qualified physician. The role requires adherence to interventional and procedural policies and protocols, patient and family education, safe equipment operation, and thorough department documentation. The technologist is also responsible for maintaining clean and operational equipment, ensuring an adequate supply of inventory, and participating in departmental performance improvement activities. A sign-on bonus is available for this role.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography required
  • BLS certification required
  • RCIS or RCES certification required
  • ACLS will be required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • CI/NIR (Neuro Interventional Radiography) certification preferred or must be obtained
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VIR) certification or experience preferred
  • ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex invasive interventional procedures such as diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician
  • Adheres to interventional and procedural policies and protocols
  • Provides patient and family education
  • Operates equipment safely
  • Completes department documentation
  • Maintains all equipment to be clean and operational
  • Maintains adequate supply of inventory for performing examinations
  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities
