About The Position

You are a vital member of the interventional radiology team and supporting patients through complex procedures like thrombectomies, embolizations, and neuro interventions. Your expertise in advanced imaging techniques such as digital rotational angiography and 3D reconstruction will be crucial. You'll manage and maintain an extensive inventory of supplies, ensuring everything is in place for seamless operations. Scrubbing in during procedures, you'll provide essential technical support to physicians, handling a wide range of patient acuity levels. Additionally, you'll play a key role in patient safety, education, and training, making a significant impact on both patient outcomes and the development of new medical professionals.

Requirements

  • ARRT certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT-VI), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CV), or Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CI) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician during procedures as thrombectomies, embolizations, line placements, angiograms, neuro interventions, stenting, angioplasty, and thrombolysis.
  • Perform advanced imaging requirements in digital rotational angiography, cone beam CT, 3D reconstruction, and fusion CT.
  • Maintain expansive knowledge of all inventory supplies (consignment, PAR, or departmental) and their locations, including those outside of Radiology.
  • Scrub in during procedures using proper sterile techniques to provide technical support to the physician in both routine and highly complex neuro and peripheral interventions for a vast range of acuity level of patients such as ICU, Trauma, General Anesthesia, Sedation, and IP.
  • Support a wide variety of procedures referred by various service lines that include but is not limited to Oncology, Trauma, Urology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, and Neurology.
  • On-call responsibilities on a rotating basis with the requirement to report to the hospital within 30 minutes of receiving a page.
  • Engage in patient safety by participation during the time out for procedures, at post procedure huddles, and by following all organization policies and guidelines regarding confidentiality and safety.
  • Provide education and training for student technologists.
  • Assist with education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows, and attendings), if applicable.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
