About The Position

RP Valley is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant (PA) to support our growing practice in Phoenix, AZ! The IR PA works in collaboration with the Phoenix imaging centers' radiologists to provide comprehensive care for their patients. As a clinical leader for the Interventional Radiology program, the PA is involved in process improvement projects and serves as an educational resource for patients, families, and staff. Provide complete patient information for interpreting physicians, including exam consent, health status, prescriptions, and any contraindications. Record all unusual and/or pertinent patient history in the medical record or Radiology Information System (RIS) before interpretation by a physician. Under the direct supervision of a radiologist (depending on the procedure type), perform various diagnostic and/or interventional radiology procedures/exams. Assist radiologists with biopsies, drainages, and other procedures as needed. Assist in image acquisition and communication of image evaluation reports. Record patient history (previously communicated through initial observations of imaging procedures) according to approved protocols. Communicate radiologist reports to referring physicians following ACR communication guidelines. Perform follow-up patient evaluations and communicate findings to the radiologist. Appropriately document and record procedures following company policy and safety standards. Write discharge summaries as directed for review and co-signature by the supervising radiologist. Travel to outpatient imaging centers in the Phoenix metropolitan area to provide coverage as needed. Complete all required medical record documentation associated with exams by the end of the work shift per site protocol. Requirements

  • Current license and certificate of authority to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Arizona required
  • Must be a graduate of an ARC accredited PA program, have an active DEA license and Arizona state license, and BLS/ACLS certification PALS certification required.
  • Interventional Radiology or comparable invasive (i.e. vascular surgery/ EM) procedure experience.
