Requirements
Must be a graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology; must achieve ARRT registration and Illinois State License, must maintain educational requirements for licensure and registration.
Must maintain up-dated licensure and registration.
Completion of initial and/or annual competencies as specified by Department Manager to fulfill accrediting body requirements.
Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations, above-normal noise levels, and/or unpleasant substances; daily exposure to hazardous or potentially injurious elements or conditions such as radiation and blood/ body fluids.
Moderate to heavy physical exertion, standing 80% of the time; frequent bending and reaching (80 inches from the floor); occasional lifting and carrying of loads 5 to 75 pounds.
Must be able to assist average size person (150 pounds) to and from X-ray table, etc., in normal course of work; upon occasion must be able to support average person for approximately two minutes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work under stress and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsibilities
Performs routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures according to department policy and procedures.
Updates patient examination history files.
Enters data into computer system.
Consults with supervisors, Radiologist, or ordering physician as necessary to provide appropriate patient care.
Understands all interventional procedures and assists physician in a variety of exams.
Insertion and removal of PICC lines and micro-puncture access.
Follows appropriate safety precautions.
Performs visual preventative safety inspections.
Reports dangerous department or equipment conditions appropriately.
Assists M.D. with AAA Repair and Carotid Stent Device Management.
Works with the interventional radiologist to develop protocol and perform procedures for line placement and pain management procedures.
Maintains IDNS license and ARRT registration; remains current on developing trends in diagnostic radiology; participates in continuing education.
Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area; maintains appropriate supply levels.
Treats patients in professional and respectful manner.
