About The Position

Provides face to face translation between the Spanish and English languages for limited English proficiency (LEP) patients and staff members with limited Spanish proficiency. This position is ECB, which is scheduled on an as-needed-basis without a guaranteed number of hours; it requires a minimum number of available hours each month and offers limited benefits. Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekend availability required.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED. University Degree will satisfy requirement.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Tested and passed interpreter proficient.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to work with others in a team approach and to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide dual translations of informed consents and patient care, along with, other questions and communications between Spanish speaking patients with limited English proficiency and staff members with limited Spanish proficiency.
