About The Position

We are Para la Naturaleza, a nonprofit environmental organization based in Puerto Rico and we are looking for a candidate to join our team! Our Interpreter Coordinator is in charge of the planning, programming and logistics tours and educational workshops, including team supervision and coordination of activities related to conservation. This position requires willingness to travel, work extended hours, weekends, holidays and rotating shifts. Must be available to drive vehicles.  Seeking candidates for our Metro Area Region. We have one (1) full time regular job opportunity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Natural Sciences, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, or related areas. Preferably experience in Environmental Planning.
  • 2 years minimum on a similar position.
  • 2 years minimum of experience in supervision, recruitment, performance evaluation, disciplinary action procedure and payroll process.
  • 2 years minimum of manage environmental projects from a manager perspective.
  • Experience in the following customer service, presentations, investigation projects and field work.
  • Fully bilingual, excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Multitasking and experience with high workload.
  • High degree of flexibility, adaptability, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proficiency in word processing, worksheets and presentation programs, such as MS Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint) and knowledge in operating systems like Windows & MAC.
  • Willingness to work in the field on daily basis, including open areas, caves, swamps, rivers, beaches, mountains, among others.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays and rotating shifts.
  • Must be available to drive vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably, basic knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and map interpretation.
  • First Aid, Emergency Management and Environmental Interpretation Guide Certifications are a plus.
