About The Position

The Interop Monitor Tech performs Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring of EEG, EP, EMG, and NCV procedures using established standards and practices on patients as ordered by physicians. The Certified Neurophysiologic Interoperative Monitoring (CNIM) Tech works collaboratively with physicians, patients and other healthcare team members to assure the timely and quality procedures. The CNIM Tech also performs EEG and other electroneurodiagnostic procedures in a clinical lab, inpatient and epilepsy unit setting including the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Requirements

  • Certified Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (NIOM) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoke Potential Technologist (ABRET)
  • Current NIOM certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience as an Intraoperative Monitoring Tech
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Physical Lifting 20-50 lbs.
  • Activities: Prolonged standing, Prolonged sitting, Frequent bending
  • Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking
  • Emotional: Steady pace, Able to handle multiple priorities, Noisy environment

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of work experience in a neurodiagnostic lab setting
  • Experience and proficiency in two (2) electroneurodiagnostic modalities (e.g. EEG, AEEG, EMU, Polysomnogram, etc.)
  • Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program

Responsibilities

  • Performs Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring of EEG, EP, EMG, and NCV procedures
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, patients and other healthcare team members to assure the timely and quality procedures
  • Performs EEG and other electroneurodiagnostic procedures in a clinical lab, inpatient and epilepsy unit setting including the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
  • Takes initiative to acquire and maintain knowledge base
  • Participates in conferences and technical training
