The University of Southern Maine (USM) is looking for an Internship Project Coordinator to join the Career & Employment Hub and help power the Career Exploration Internship Program, a program that funds and facilitates meaningful internship experiences for USM students and employer partners across southern Maine. In this role, you won't just support a program—you'll help tell its story. From producing compelling student and employer success stories for Instagram and LinkedIn, to planning networking events and tracking program outcomes, this position sits at a unique crossroads of media & communications, event coordination, and career services. The Internship Project Coordinator supports the Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP), working as part of the Career & Employment Hub team to advance a dynamic internship program serving undergraduate and graduate students and employer partners. This role leads the program’s media production and marketing efforts, developing print and digital materials, producing student and employer success stories (including video content), managing social media strategy, and maintaining program webpages in collaboration with the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications and MEIF@USM, an economic development investment tool that supports research and innovative solutions that address the challenges of Maine communities, businesses, and industries in specific sectors. The Coordinator also plans and supports key program events each semester : intern orientation, networking events , and final presentations; assists students with internship application and interview preparation; and tracks, evaluates, and reports program outcomes. The Career & Employment Hub supports students and alumni in exploring career pathways, gaining professional experience, and successfully transitioning into the workforce. Through individualized advising, employer partnerships, internship coordination, networking events, and skill-building workshops, the Hub provides comprehensive career development services grounded in USM’s Service Promise of being Student Focused Every Day. The team works collaboratively across campus and with community and industry partners to create meaningful experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for lifelong career success. This is a full-time, 3-year fixed length position (with the possibility of renewal) on our Portland Campus with a starting annual salary of $45,000. Requirements
