Environment for the Americas (EFTA) is a non-profit organization located in Boulder, Colorado. EFTA works to connect diverse people to conservation through education and outreach, meaningful work experience, and international partnerships. Our Internship Programs are an important example of how we accomplish this goal. We work with underrepresented youth across the country and federal and non-governmental agencies to provide internship opportunities. These intensive experiences introduce participants to important job skills and provide opportunities to work side-by-side with biologists, educators, researchers, historians, and other professionals at national parks, wildlife refuges, and other natural areas across the country. The incumbent would primarily work in the preparation, coordination, and execution of the Let’s Go Birding internship program. The Let’s Go Birding internship program is a partnership between Environment for the Americas, Birdability, and the National Park Service, aims to ensure all people can experience the joy of birding. Interns work to reduce barriers to birding, working to ensure individuals with mobility challenges, blindness or low vision, chronic illnesses, intellectual or developmental disabilities, neurodivergence, and those who are deaf or hard of hearing enjoy equal access to recreation in National Park Service sites.
