About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Electrical or Controls Engineering student to support our LiB Division in the commercialization of advanced R&D programs related to lithium iron battery (LiB) manufacturing technologies. This role will bridge R&D and Production Controls Engineering, helping transition prototype systems into standardized, scalable, production-ready automation platforms. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting high-precision battery manufacturing technologies in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
  • Exposure to industrial automation concepts such as PLC programming and HMI development
  • Familiarity with motion control systems and industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and interest in advanced manufacturing and automation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with structured programming, troubleshooting, or data acquisition is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in PLC and HMI development for new and existing equipment
  • Support control panel design, electrical documentation, and schematics
  • Participate in I/O validation, system testing, and commissioning activities
  • Contribute to the standardization of control logic across equipment platforms
  • Collaborate with R&D and Production Controls Engineering teams to transition development projects into manufacturing
  • Troubleshoot automation and controls-related challenges to optimize system performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within LiB manufacturing operations
