International Logistics Coordinator

About The Position

ORBIS is seeking an International Logistics Coordinator to support global transportation and trade activities across our international supply chain. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, global environment and has a strong interest in international shipping, trade compliance, and logistics cost optimization. You’ll partner with internal teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, and brokers to ensure shipments move efficiently, compliantly, and cost‑effectively around the world

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a transportation or logistics‑related role.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, international logistics, export regulations, and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and common business tools such as Excel and Word.
  • Effective communication and relationship‑building skills across cultures and functions.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and handle competing priorities.
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel; ability to obtain a passport required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with international transportation, customs processes, and trade compliance.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support international transportation activities, including import/export documentation and freight coordination.
  • Prepare export documentation such as pro‑forma invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Coordinate with plants on export loading requirements, including ISPM‑15 and Verified Gross Mass (VGM) compliance.
  • Work with foreign suppliers to manage routing and importation of goods into the U.S.
  • Review and approve international freight, duty, tax, and transportation invoices.
  • Ensure all activities comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and international trade requirements.
  • Manage and evaluate global freight quotes, conducting RFQs and negotiating point‑to-point transportation rates.
  • Select and manage logistics service providers based on total cost, service, and transit time.
  • Execute daily transportation activities within a Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Collaborate with plants and suppliers to resolve shipment issues and investigate customer complaints.
  • Support and train plant personnel on routing, shipping, and compliance processes.
