About The Position

Are you a parts pro who loves the logistics of the heavy-duty truck industry but hates dealing with retail walk-ins? The Service Company is looking for an Internal Parts Specialist to run our back counter. In this role, you have one primary mission: keep our technicians in the bays turning wrenches. You won’t be dealing with the general public or chasing outside sales. You will be the vital link between our inventory, our vendors, and our shop floor. When a truck is torn down in the bay, the clock is ticking. We need someone who can source parts accurately and aggressively, manage repair orders seamlessly, and keep the shop’s lifeblood pumping so our fleet customers can get back on the road.

Requirements

Previous parts experience in the heavy-duty truck or automotive industry is required. You need to know what a slack adjuster or an air dryer looks like without having to Google it.
You understand that a tech standing at your counter is a tech who isn't billing hours. You hustle to get them what they need.
You don’t guess at part numbers, the goal is to get the right part the first time.
Shop environments are fast-paced and high-pressure. You know how to handle stressed-out techs and keep the workflow moving smoothly.
You can stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs comfortably throughout the day in a dynamic shop environment.

Responsibilities

Serving as the dedicated parts lifeline for our diesel technicians. You'll pull, bill, and deliver parts directly to the bays based on active Repair Orders (ROs).
Looking up parts using diagrams and cross-references. If we don’t have it on the shelf, you are hitting the phones to track it down from local vendors or dealerships fast.
Organize, track, and process dirty cores and warranty parts to ensure the shop doesn't bleed money.
Working lock-step with the Service Foreman and Service Writers so everyone knows exactly when a backordered part is landing.
