Riverside Medical Group is actively seeking a Full-Time Internal Medicine Residency Faculty Physician to join our dedicated team at Riverside Internal Medicine Center in Newport News, Virginia. In this vital role, you will be a cornerstone of our Graduate Medical Education (GME) program, providing inpatient care while mentoring and supervising residents and medical students on the teaching service.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine (Required)
  • 1–3 years of post-residency experience or demonstrated expertise in Internal Medicine (Required)
  • Active Virginia Medical License (Required)
  • Valid DEA registration for controlled substances (Required)
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model for future physicians by exemplifying compassion, professionalism, excellence in teaching and patient care, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Educate and supervise residents, ensuring patient safety and fostering readiness for independent practice through appropriate oversight and support.
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of candidates for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
  • Promote evidence-based care by guiding residents through case studies and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Create a dynamic learning environment that supports growth in all ACGME Competency domains, including timely evaluations and real-time feedback.
  • Engage in ongoing faculty development to continually enhance teaching and clinical skills.
