Who we’re looking for Toyota’s Greensboro, North Carolina Battery Plant Manufacturing Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Internal Logistics Group Leader. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Internal Logistics Department Manager and support meeting all Logistics safety, quality, cost, and productivity KPI s during initial pre-production through SOP and eventual transition into responsibility for stable conveyance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of Logistics or Production Control (PC) People Leader experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or warehousing industries, preferably with a Logistics background
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics experience
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading teams, coaching problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement
  • Experience in production manpower planning aligned with running production processes (e.g. attendance, absenteeism, overtime management)
  • Comfort with shop floor operations, ability to assess situations, and deploy resources to solve problems and abnormalities
  • Experience creating and presenting material to all levels of management
  • Experience creating and executing strategic direction
  • Working a 12 Hour NIGHT shift on a 2-2-3 Panama schedule

  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability (PDCA, RC/CM, TBP)

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of a team in a shipping & receiving dock
  • Manage flow of raw material and components from the receiving dock to our internal processes and out to our final customers
  • Complete time entry and effectively manage all coding and HR issues daily
  • Understand staffing conditions and adjust accordingly
  • Promote and exemplify a safety-first work culture
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions.
  • Uphold company values and ensure that all team members do the same
  • Understand the line condition and ensure tools/equipment are capable prior to shift start
  • Support and enable direct report activity to achieve strategic hoshin direction to ensure successful conveyance launch of all battery lines
  • Support the strategic direction to implement, improve, and sustain the 3 Pillar and Floor Management Development Systems (FMDS) for battery production
  • Collaborate closely with other groups to promote strong kaizen culture to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
  • Kaizen functions for Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) internal conveyance current daily process to drive standardization and promote best practice
  • Support North America Manufacturing Company (NAMC) with Internal Logistics planning of new model through Internal Logistics standards and benchmarking tools to create best practice assumptions
