Logistics Team Leader Performance Expectation The Logistics Team Leader will oversee all transportation and distribution operations for a fleet of approximately 50 trucks/vans at multiple facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant logistics processes that meet customer expectations and support company growth. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of transportation regulations, and experience managing large-scale logistics operations. Follow the Team Member process by holding timely monthly one-on-ones, quarterly touch-bases and annual assessments with each member of your team in which you collaborate to develop and execute a growth plan to “better their lives and increase their value to TCM. Participate in the operating rhythm to drive the team’s engagement and development. Follow the LMA program for your team. Lead the Weekly Level 10 Team Meetings. Develop and execute the on-going training plan during the year, reviewing and updating SOP’s as necessary and recertifying Team Members on policies as required. Lead the Quarterly Meeting for the Department. Payroll. Review and approve timecard hours for direct support. Schedule Team Member shifts and hold accountable for working hours within the schedule. Approve requested PTO and plan the time off within the department to execute service standards. Submit compensation changes timely so Team Members may receive their raises at the right time. Business Fundamentals. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize fleet utilization, reduce costs, and improve service levels without sacrificing customer service, Team Member morale, product quality or safety. Fleet Management: Oversee maintenance schedules, compliance with DOT regulations, and ensure safety standards are met. Operational Oversight: Manage dispatch, routing, and scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Budget Management: Prepare and monitor budgets for transportation operations, including fuel, maintenance, and labor costs. Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local transportation laws and company policies. Vendor Relations: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, repair shops, and third-party logistics providers. Technology Integration: Implement and manage logistics software for tracking, reporting, and optimization. Performance Metrics: Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, and driver performance. Community Driven As a Lead/Leader of the company, you are expected to be involved in community and company events. Setting forth a standard of giving back and charitable services and being an example for your team of active participation in all TCM companywide events. Absences should be rare and pre-approved. Expectations for your Role Operating Rhythm. Weekly Team Meeting and CAP are done weekly. Conduct monthly one on one with direct reports. Review weekly budget vs actual. Review weekly payroll reports and compare to budget. Review routes weekly for efficient use of driver hours and Company equipment. Drive Customer Service Improvements via operating rhythm, leadership and Measurables. On-Time Delivery Rate: ≥ 99% Fleet Utilization: Maintain ≥ 90% utilization across all trucks. Cost per Mile: Reduce operational cost per mile by 5% annually. Safety Compliance: Zero DOT violations and maintain CSA score within acceptable limits. Maintenance Compliance: 100% adherence to preventive maintenance schedules. Driver Retention Rate: ≥ 85% annually. Fuel Efficiency: Improve MPG by 5% through route optimization and driver training. Customer Satisfaction: Maintain service rating of ≥ 4.5/5.
