About The Position

Ensure strong asset quality by auditing commercial loan files for policy compliance and accuracy. This position plays an important role in reviewing and identifying credit risk trends and recommending process improvements to help safeguard the Bank's loan portfolio.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Understanding of UCC, appraisals, and loan documentation concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business degree; or a bachelor's degree in a non-related field with equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of loan review experience, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience as a credit or financial analyst with underwriting ability, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the Bank’s internal loan review and audit processes while supporting strong asset quality for credits of varying size and complexity.
  • Review commercial loan files for accuracy, documentation, and compliance with credit standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide written analysis of loan relationships, assess underwriting accuracy, ensure loan risk rating changes are timely, accurate, and provide early identification of negative risk trends.
  • Perform continuous monitoring of the commercial credit portfolio through meeting participation and analytical reporting.
  • Analyze and evaluate loan exceptions and associated mitigants.
  • Work closely with management to identify and address potential risks and trends.
  • Communicate issues and process improvement recommendations to management.
  • Complete required annual training and maintain knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Participate in bank and community initiatives to strengthen visibility and reinforce Firstar’s commitment to the communities it serves.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of the Bank’s priorities and objectives.
