About The Position

The Evaluator I, Internal Evaluation Program is responsible to the Manager of IEP for conducting objective and independent assessments of operational, safety, and technical processes at Allegiant Air. Dependent on the background and competencies of the evaluator, this role conducts audits and evaluations on specific operational areas and support functions to identify areas of risk and actual or potential non-compliance with federal regulations & company requirements. As an Evaluator I, this individual will gain experience on team audits & evaluations, and leading audits and evaluations on which they are sufficiently competent. The IEP Evaluator I will collaborate with all levels of Allegiant management, conduct risk-based scheduled and special evaluations, and work with management to develop effective risk management solutions, improve operational safety assurance components, and helps to develop effective Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to resolve evaluation non-conformances. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Education Details: Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Safety, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience with a Part 121 air carrier, Part 135 air carrier, aviation provider or contractor, military experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Valid/Unexpired Passport Book: Yes
  • Valid/Unexpired Driver's License: Yes
  • General understanding of 14 CFR Part 5, Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Previous experience conducting audits or evaluations.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous investigative experience.
  • Working knowledge of IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPs).
  • Work experience in 14 CFR 121 air carrier operations; flight operations, dispatch, stations, training, quality control, maintenance, safety, or a combination thereof.
  • Previous experience maintaining and enhancing corporate safety standards and safe operational practices.
  • Ability to understand complex business and operational processes.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Airman Certificate as an Aircraft Dispatcher, Pilot, A&P Mechanic, or Flight Attendant Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency for Group 2 aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Performs risk-based scheduled and special evaluations on operational elements within Allegiant in Flight Operations, Stations, Maintenance, Inflight, OCC/Dispatch, Records, Safety, and other areas to identify areas of risk, and actual or potential non-compliance with federal regulations, foreign regulations, and company requirements.
  • Works under the direction of the lead evaluator, or independently as the lead evaluator to identify areas of actual or potential non-compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policy & procedures, IOSA Standards & Recommended Practices (ISARPs), Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, and other applicable external safety standards and requirements.
  • Collects objective and verifiable evidence to substantiate raised non-conformances.
  • Prepares evaluation reports on areas audits or evaluations that were performed.
  • Works with department leadership and process owners to conduct effective root cause analysis on non-conformances and develop effective Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  • Monitors the implementation and effectiveness of CAPs.
  • Performs follow-up evaluations on CAPs to ensure their implementation and continued effectiveness.
  • Maintains and updates Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) files in airSMS.
  • Promotes and embodies Allegiant’s commitment to safety with Team Members, vendors, regulators, and the travelling public.
  • Travel, including international, may be required up to 30% of the time.
  • May be required be operate a motor vehicle in an airport environment, during hazardous weather conditions, or drive significant distances during station and vendor evaluations.
  • Models Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing direction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
