About The Position

The Internal Communications Manager will develop and execute an integrated, strategic, and multichannel internal communications program to improve employees’ understanding of firm strategic and operational goals. This role utilizes multiple types of media/technology, coordinates regularly with firm leaders, and serves as the firm’s data steward. In addition, this position will work closely with the CEO and other C-Suite and leadership team members on high level administrative tasks by providing support through advanced organizational and project management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • 6+ years’ experience in internal communications, marketing communications, or related role
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to accurately articulate firm’s mission and values to internal audiences to enhance employee engagement
  • Passion for creating purposeful, effective, accurate communications that resonate with audiences
  • Exemplary project management skills with ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time with an increasingly complex workload, experience with Asana or other Project Management software a plus
  • Ability to work both autonomously & independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm, employee, and client information
  • Leads by example exhibiting integrity, energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, communication platforms, and an understanding of data analytics and AI and its usage in these spaces
  • Results-focused and deadline driven, emphasizing team accountability within a culture of openness, respect, innovation, and excellence
  • Strong people and interpersonal skills, who can effectively communicate and motivate individuals at all levels while exuding a professional presence
  • Superior grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various audiences

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and continually enhance the firm’s internal communication strategy, including communication mapping, optimization of communication channels, increasing read rates, and utilizing data analytics and AI applications
  • Be present in leadership and manager level meetings, assess leaders’ complex ideas, anticipate objections, identify bottlenecks, present alternative communications, and communicate any ramifications of decisions and issues to project stakeholders
  • Create professional yet personable internal communications for firm leadership, ensuring priorities and messaging are clear, aligned with firm strategy, and consistent with firm mission and vision
  • Actively sets agendas and project manage firm-wide communications, including monthly newsletters, periodic firm-wide educational sessions, quarterly business updates, and semi-annual firm-wide meetings, as well as other communication projects, from ideation through execution
  • Ensure deliverables are achieved on time while maintaining the highest standards of quality
  • Recommend tools and strategies to grow firm members into better communicators
  • Oversee content management and strategy for the firm’s intranet, including standards, best practices, and guidelines
  • Collaborate with leaders and help lead content and presentation material creation
  • Promote effective firmwide use of intranet while utilizing analytic tools and evaluation methods to measure efficacy and performance of the intranet
  • Actively seek out opportunities to increase engagement and promote the “one firm” concept through acting as an internal brand ambassador, sharing firm and team members’ stories, promoting successes, and encouraging multi-directional communications
  • Serve as key liaison and partner with HR on creating employee communications that drive employee engagement, enhance organizational culture, and support key HR initiatives
  • Coordinate with Marketing on internal/external communications and internal graphic design - press releases and announcements about firm news and events
  • Ensure communication pathways exist for every employee, regardless of position or location
  • Respond on behalf of the CEO to calls, correspondence and emails as directed
  • Maintains the CEO’s calendar for meetings, conferences, and travel; schedules many C-Suite calls and video conferences
  • Prepares packets and support materials for meetings and distributes to appropriate audience in advance of meetings
  • Oversee in-person event logistics including event planning, calendar management, travel, event venue bookings, catering, and other logistical event duties
  • Records and transcribes minutes for various meetings utilizing modern technology applications
  • Manages credit card reconciliation and completes expense reimbursements for the CEO
  • Handles confidential and non-routine information with ease and maintains complete confidentiality and professionalism
