About the team and role: Join our dynamic Employee Communications team at eBay, where we are dedicated to crafting meaningful connections and encouraging a vibrant workplace culture. As the Lead Employee Communications Manager for the International Markets, you will play a key role in bringing eBay's strategy, purpose, and culture to life through many channels, including crafting innovative events and experiences. As eBay advances its strategy, we seek an internal communicator to keep our international teams informed, engaged, and connected. This person will also share their success stories with the broader eBay community. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in internal communications and a passion for crafting clear, creative, and impactful messages for diverse global audiences.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in communications with a strong focus on event planning and execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and encouraging diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to direct multiple initiatives and engage closely with internal teams and external partners.
  • An imaginative approach with a passion for storytelling and crafting memorable experiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams in a global environment.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally and adapt to different time zones as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Communications Collaboration and Leadership Advice for the GM, North America. Define and communicate the eBay strategy to North America Markets, encouraging employees to support long-term sustainable growth for eBay.
  • Partner with NA GM and Leadership Team, and People Business Partners, to prepare and support leaders for high-impact communication moments (e.g., change comms, announcements).
  • Advise the GMs and Leadership teams in the NA Markets on their messaging, adapting the eBay strategy to their audience and helping them develop a narrative for in-market initiatives.
  • Lead horizontal NA communications planning and own the narrative to develop strategic internal events. These include town halls, Strategy Kick-offs, Team Days, and Leadership Visits. Work closely with other Global Marketplace Experience ICBPs and executive leadership team’s Comms partners. Connect employees to our global strategy, culture, and purpose. Build line of sight with their teams’ and market’s goals.
  • Build strong two-way communication between global, regional, and local teams.
  • Collaborate and coordinate across functions (Global Communications, Marketing, Markets Activation Team) to ensure consistency and alignment with company-wide business and communications activities.
  • Build and deliver engaging events and experiences that clearly reflect eBay's strategy and culture for employees in the US and Canada. The primary focus is on the San Jose HQ.
  • Partner with agencies and suppliers to develop and complete high-quality content and experiences that resonate with employees.
  • Work together with internal groups, including the broader communications team, brand/marketing, EMR (facilities), and Communities of Inclusion, to help nurture strong ties to our DNA.
  • Act as the connector for all communications teams across the Global Markets Success organization. Ensure they have what they need to deliver in-market communications. Develop playbooks that allow sharing of effective methods across Comms.
  • Use data-driven insights to measure the impact of communication activities and continuously refine our approach.
