About The Position

Our client, a large public-sector utility, is seeking an Internal Audit Staff professional to support operational audits and internal control reviews across a complex organization. This role plays a key part in evaluating processes, identifying risk, and helping improve efficiency, transparency, and compliance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys investigative, qualitative work , thrives in unstructured problem-solving environments, and brings a naturally curious, detail-oriented mindset.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working through ambiguity and unstructured problems
• Naturally inquisitive, with the ability to ask the right questions
• Able to balance independent judgment with collaborative communication
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another relevant discipline
• Experience requirements may vary based on degree and background

Nice To Haves

• Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist with risk assessments and identify control gaps and opportunities for operational improvement
• Evaluate business operations and internal control systems for compliance with policies, regulations, and established standards
• Perform audit testing and analysis to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and proper use of organizational resources
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit documentation and deliverables
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders while maintaining professional skepticism and objectivity
