About The Position

As an Internal Auditor Lead, you’ll have the chance to help ensure the safety and soundness of OE Federal Credit Union. Become part of a team that is key in reducing operational errors, minimizing fraud, and providing appropriate management and control of risk.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in an applicable field and minimum 4 years of work experience in a Lead-level role, or High School Diploma/GED and minimum 6 years of work experience in a Lead-level role required.
  • Three years of experience conducting complex audits, compliance reviews, and internal control assessments according to professional auditing standards is required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and with various levels of management and staff required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills, with the required ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.
  • Obtaining Certified Credit Union Internal Auditor (CCUIA) certification within 18 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the adequacy of the credit union’s system of internal controls.
  • Recommend improvements to address identified deficiencies in internal controls.
  • Assess compliance with credit union policies and procedures and sound business practices.
  • Assess compliance with state and federal laws and contractual obligations.
  • Draft audit reports to summarize findings; collaborate with internal stakeholders on post-audit remediation plans; and present reports to executive management and the Supervisory Committee.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual risk-based audit plan.
  • Assist external auditor(s) and regulatory examiners by providing data and information as requested.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across departments and branches to deliver optimal and efficient service to our members. Uphold a standard of professionalism actively fostering positive relationships internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the credit union’s products and services, ensuring compliance with applicable Federal and State laws, Credit Union banking regulations, and OE Federal Credit Union’s policies and procedures and current promotions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
