Responsibilities

  • Audits the accounting and related records of School District departments to determine conformance to established accounting procedures and legal requirements.
  • Analyzes revenue records and expenditure accounts for accuracy and propriety.
  • Reviews documented processes against federal, state, and District guidelines.
  • Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Identifies areas of non-compliance and communicates findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ensures proper documentation of findings and corrective actions.
  • Manages multiple audit projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Surveys accounting and personnel records procedures to serve as a basis for audit reports.
  • Prepares detailed and summary financial statements and reports.
  • Researches and analyzes financial statement and audit-related issues.
  • Proactively interacts with department management to gather information and resolve problems.
