About The Position

The Internal Audit Staff – Property Auditor serves as an integral part of the audit team, conducting compliance and financial audits pertaining to Camden’s operational, development, and corporate functions as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with sufficient hours to obtain CPA or Master’s Degree in Accounting is preferred
  • 1-2 years audit or industry Accounting experience is preferred
  • OneSite experience preferred
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Products knowledge
  • Ability to provide professional communication and customer service to internal and external customers
  • Capable of make decisions with minimal guidance
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and security of personnel records and information
  • Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs)
  • Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
  • Works in a typical office setting
  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
  • Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis
  • May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
  • Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
  • May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
  • Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position

Responsibilities

  • Perform audit procedures as defined by the Department’s onsite audit programs for all Camden owned or managed properties on a rotating basis and as assigned by the Internal Audit Manager.
  • Conduct meetings with onsite management, and upper management, as necessary, to review property audit results and obtain management responses.
  • Prepare and submit test results documented in predefined workpapers to Internal Audit Manager and clear all review comments.
  • Prepare the initial draft management report within the required time frame and submitting to Internal Audit Manager and clearing all review comments.
  • Responsible for learning and applying updated Company policies to property audit procedures.
  • Complete special project testing as assigned by the Internal Audit Manager.
  • Responsible for meeting strict time deadlines and Internal Audit Plan criteria.
  • Requires excellent organization, ability to self-manage, meet time deadlines, and excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of Camden staff and management.
