About The Position

This enables us to effectively serve the needs of our members and help them succeed. The Internal Audit Manager focuses primarily on our financial, administrative, and operational business. This role supports the achievement of the Bank’s objectives by managing risk-based internal audit and advisory services while developing members of the Internal Audit team and partnering with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (accounting, finance or other business subjects preferred); continuing education in audit-related fields and 5+ years of audit experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards, accounting principles, Sarbanes Oxley, finance, risk management and other relevant Bank subject matter such as asset/liability management, risk modeling or information technology.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, critical thinking, project management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or other appropriate professional credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead audit projects through supervision of the team and business stakeholders.
  • Manage all phases of audits (planning, fieldwork, testing, issue development, reporting) in accordance with the IIA Standards and departmental methodology.
  • Help drive audit planning and risk assessment efforts within the team to align audit work with objectives and strategic priorities of the Bank to meet audit coverage needs.
  • Lead the evaluation of risks and controls, identify where audit testing is needed to conclude on the effectiveness of the control, and identify potential audit issues for remediation.
  • Provide daily operating supervision, guidance, training, and support to team.
  • Build constructive, transparent relationships with business unit leadership while maintaining independence and objectivity.
  • Oversee, conduct or coordinate audits, special projects, reviews, and/or other audit initiatives in accordance with departmental procedures and applicable professional standards as required.
  • Manage and develop high performing team members through communication, feedback, coaching, and completion of mid-year and year end performance evaluations.
  • Other duties and/or projects may be assigned.
