Internal Audit Director

The Internal Audit Director at Brex will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading the internal audit function within the organization. This position is designed to provide independent and objective assurance regarding the effectiveness of Brex's risk management, control, and governance processes. The Internal Audit team operates as an independent, objective, internal testing, and advisory function that adds value and strengthens Brex's internal controls and risk management. The mission of the Internal Audit team is to ensure compliance with regulators and financial services partners while safeguarding company assets and promoting operational efficiency. As the Internal Audit Director, you will have the unique opportunity to build this function from the ground up. This includes designing and implementing necessary frameworks, processes, and audit methodologies that align with the company's overall business objectives and risk management framework. You will report directly to the Board Audit Committee and work closely with senior management to deliver actionable insights and recommendations. Your role will be critical in ensuring that Brex operates with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability as it continues to innovate within the financial systems landscape. In this role, you will develop and execute a comprehensive internal audit strategy, act as a key advisor to the Board Audit Committee, and oversee the execution of internal audits. You will evaluate and test the effectiveness of internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements to management. Additionally, you will communicate audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
