About The Position

The Internal Audit Director will lead the internal audit team within a non-profit organization, focusing on the development and implementation of audit strategies and plans. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with auditing standards and enhancing operational efficiency through effective audit practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years experience in a related field
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Audit Programs
• Familiarity with various Business Systems
• Knowledge of Data Mining Techniques
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience working with an Audit Committee
• Extensive experience in Auditing and creating Audit Plans
• CPA certification required

Nice To Haves

• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification preferred
• Experience in Operational Audit
• Knowledge of Non-profit Accounting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Direct the internal auditing function and lead the team effectively.
• Assist in fulfilling management's responsibilities regarding internal audits.
• Develop and implement strategic audit plans in line with the Internal Audit Charter.
• Assess business processes and devise operational audits accordingly.
• Mentor, manage, and inspire a team of auditors.
• Conduct audits, ensuring compliance with generally accepted auditing standards and internal auditing practices.
• Identify and communicate observations that add value through detailed research and analysis.
• Oversee project management, ensuring excellent time management.
• Utilize accounting software systems and data mining techniques.
• Collaborate with the Audit Committee and handle accounting functions.
• Develop and execute audit plans and programs.
• Leverage knowledge of business systems and non-profit accounting.
