About The Position

Program Overview The Crown Bakeries Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within the commercial baking industry. Interns gain practical exposure to manufacturing, product development, supply chain, quality systems, and/or corporate business functions while contributing to meaningful projects that impact our daily operations. This internship is designed to develop future leaders by combining mentorship, project ownership, presentation skills and cross-functional collaboration. KEY PROJECT FOCUS AREA(S) BY DEPT: Engineering - Help address inventory organization. The CMMS, Inventory Organization project will help Engineering remain effective and efficient. Completion of this project will improve time to resolution for other priority engineering tasks significantly Supply Chain - Help address customer invoice deductions. The focus for this internship is to implement a process to reduce damage and bad pallet deductions. HR – Help address Management Onboarding programming, development of career path documents and finalization of the Training Catalog. Additional focus may evolve into HR Dashboard support. Finance - Help address Fixed Asset reporting and updates, Budget BOM and Routing set-up for 2027 Budget.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program and be a rising Junior or Senior while in the program.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Project Support
  • Assist with department-specific projects aligned to operational or business goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for leadership review.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Operational Exposure
  • Observe and support plant department (s) or corporate functions to understand workflow and processes.
  • Assist with process documentation, SOP updates, or workflow optimization.
  • Support product trials, audits, or customer initiatives (department dependent).
  • Collaboration
  • Work cross-functionally with team members across departments.
  • Participate in team meetings, problem-solving sessions, and project updates.
  • Present final project findings to department/corporate leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
