About The Position

CTL Engineering is hiring Interns in our Construction Management/Construction Administration department for Summer 2026! Majors: Civil Engineering or Construction Management Projects types: roadway and bridge (ODOT) construction projects Territory/region – central Ohio region (Columbus area). Given the nature of the role, Interns need to reside in the Columbus, OH region during the Internship. Housing and/or housing stipends will not be provided. Targeting 35-40 hours/week for the Summer 2026 Internship. Requirements

Majors: Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Interns need to reside in the Columbus, OH region during the Internship.

Responsibilities

Learn about and perform a variety of tasks such as research, testing, problem solution, construction management/administration of transportation projects.
Participate in field visits and inspections as required in the central Ohio region.
Learn about and conduct/document field observations for construction activities performed by the contractor(s) for roadway and bridge construction projects.
Learn how to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and related codes and standards.
See, and be involved in, the process of ensuring construction work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes and best construction practices while adhering to schedule/timeline and budget aspects.
Learn how to identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
Communicate deficiencies to management/proper personnel.
Monitor the progress of construction activities and provide guidance to contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines.
Discuss plans, specifications and work schedules with Project Manager and Engineers, contractors, utility companies and other governmental agencies, etc.
Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to the client.
Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.
Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Assist in reviewing contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications.
Assist in the resolution of construction-related disputes or claims.
