The intern is a 12 or 13 week program for students seeking careers in the field of healthcare. The intern must be currently enrolled in a degree seeking program or with a career focus in the healthcare industry. The intern shall be exposed to multiple levels of the organization. Projects will be guided by members of the senior management team. Projects may be related to clinical ancillary regulatory operational or fiscal issues as identified and agreed upon by the Director of HR and the intern. The intern will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to each project and will work with managers and staff level employees to identify issues and provide resolutions for each project although the intern may not be responsible for final implementation of proposed resolutions. At SLCHS, meet and plan with other peer mentor team members to provide peer to peer tutoring and academic support to enhance learning and higher levels of achievement in course work during the junior year. Oversee Open Lab and direct students to supplemental resources and classroom materials to guide them during skills practice to support simulation lab and clinical skills required for mastering nursing skills techniques.
