Long Ridge Energy is a single-shaft combined-cycle gas turbine power plant consisting of a GE 7HA.02 gas turbine, one of the biggest and most efficient heavy-duty gas turbine in the world, along with a steam turbine, a hydrogen-cooled generator, and one heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). Operating at 60Hz, the gas turbine has a rated combined-cycle output of 485MW. Opportunity Summary We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us for a Summer internship program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of a highly efficient combined cycle power generation facility while working alongside industry experts. As an intern, you will be exposed to various aspects of power plant operations, including plant equipment, safety procedures, environmental compliance, and energy production processes. You will be expected to support various projects as determined by department managers. Here's a look at the projects planned during this internship period: Drawing database updates - Coordinate with plant operations and maintenance personnel to verify as-built configurations and update plant documentation with redlines. Revise drawings in CAD or work with external engineering resources to ensure updates reflect as-built field conditions. Research future year Capital Expenditures - Work with plant operations personnel and the plant engineer to develop job scopes and obtain budgetary vendor bids for owner considerations in the following year. Platform, walkways, and enclosure upgrades- Coordinate with the plant engineer and selected vendors to ensure the quality construction of platform upgrades, walkway improvements, and equipment enclosures across the site. Primary Functions Assist in the daily operation and monitoring of power plant systems Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks under supervision Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to plant equipment Support environmental compliance efforts through data collection and analysis Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize plant performance and efficiency Learn and adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
