About The Position

Our Houston office , located in the heart of downtown, is seeking highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented candidates for a full-time summer internship. As an intern in our office, you will have the opportunity to work on our global roster of clients across strategic, corporate, and financial communications engagement, and gain hands-on experience working alongside our teams of dedicated and creative communications professionals. Students interested in communications in the financial and energy sectors may be a particularly good fit for our Houston office. This is a 10-week paid internship ($21/hour) beginning on June 2 nd and ending August 6 th , 2026. Our internship follows a hybrid schedule with an expectation of 4 days per week in the office (Monday - Thursday; Friday work can be performed remotely) . Depending on needs and performance, a full-time role after graduation may be available. Responsibilities: Monitor news, conduct research, create media lists, and aid multiple account teams to help clients with mergers and acquisitions, profile raising, crisis, litigation support, etc. Learn about the many facets of what we do, including crisis and issues management, government affairs and policy, strategy and reputation, and financial communications (investor relations, M&A, VC and shareholder activism). Participate in an engaging internal training program covering various aspects of strategic communications, including mergers and acquisitions, crisis management, shareholder activism, government affairs, corporate profile raising, investor relations, financial communications and more. Monitor market-moving news, conduct research, create media lists and support FGS' account teams as they help a global roster clients navigate strategic communications needs and challenges. Team up with fellow interns on a mock new business pitch, developing strategies and presenting ideas for a hypothetical client assignment.

Requirements

  • Rising Senior in an undergraduate program.
  • Eagerness and desire to learn.
  • Strong writer and editor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for business, finance, communications and/or public relations
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
