About The Position

Join the City of St. Peters as a Water-Sewer / Storm Water Intern and gain hands-on experience in civil and environmental engineering, data collection, and infrastructure inspection. This internship offers an opportunity to work closely with our Storm Water and Utilities departments, contributing to essential projects that help maintain and improve our community's sewer and water systems.
Normal Shift: 8 hour/ day M-F

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license in the state of Missouri.
• Ability to carry a handheld GPS unit or tablet for several hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in updating GIS water, sanitary and storm sewer records to reflect existing infrastructure.
• Conduct field inspections of detention basins, storm sewers, manholes, and other storm water assets.
• Support storm water project management by updating databases and investigating customer concerns.
• Conduct field inspections of water service lines, updating databases and supporting project goals.
• Participate in mapping and research related to GIS databases. Some GPS usage.
• Ensure all work complies with City safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support department initiatives.
