Intern - Technical Architecture & Operations
About The Position
The Technical Architecture & Operations Intern will be able to acquire hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and provides hands-on exposure to cross-functional collaboration across Engineering and Manufacturing organizations. The Intern will work closely with multiple teams to observe and support department to department handoffs, identify areas of friction or ambiguity and help define the clear problem statements. The role focuses on supporting the development of scalable, sustainable technical or process solutions while fostering a collaborative, systems-thinking mindset across disciplines. This position offers broad visibility into how complex organizations operate and how architecture-driven thinking helps bridge gaps between teams.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BS in Engineering
- Understanding of engineering methodologies
- Comfortable with working independently and in a group/team-oriented setting
- A passion in process improvement, manufacturing processes and engineering
- General familiarity with Microsoft Excel and VBA
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze and interpret manufacturing data
- Perform time studies
- Support Methods of Manufacturing efforts
- Support routings and product structure creation and improvements
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and Inventor for tooling support
- Document or assist with SOP/Work Instruction creation
- Attend meetings
- Support the other teams on their projects related to BOM, Routings, DFMA, Process Improvement
- Offer ideas as to how to improve our products and processes
- Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Quality to support implementing solutions
- Other engineering tasks as needed
