Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? We’re seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, Back-End Developer to support our team in designing, rebuilding and optimizing an existing SQL database system. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with real data, contribute to meaningful internal tools, and sharpen your full‑stack development skills. This internship is a great opportunity to strengthen your technical skills while working with experienced developers on a business-critical application.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Understanding of programming fundamentals and data structures
- Interest in backend development and problem-solving
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to relational database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
- Experience with Git or other version control tools
- Understanding of REST APIs
- Coursework or personal projects involving backend or database development
- Curiosity about cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Ability to collaborate, ask questions, and learn quickly
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, developing, and optimizing backend services and APIs
- Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models
- Support backend development using Python and/or Java
- Support integration with front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Help build and maintain APIs and server-side logic
- Participate in debugging, testing, and code reviews
- Document database structures, processes, and updates
- Learn best practices in software development, security, and performance optimization
