About The Position

The Intern, Strategic Procurement (BESS) role will be part of the Clearway Strategic Procurement group and will report to the BESS Strategic Sourcing Manager. The Strategic Procurement group is responsible for categories of procurement with high spend, high risk, and that are critical to project outcomes. This position is part of the 10-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning on June 1, 2026. We are looking for current juniors and rising seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management/economics, construction, project management, or engineering. Throughout this summer internship program, you’ll get exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. At Clearway, you’ll gain access to an innovative and fast-paced work environment. You’ll also participate in networking and learning events with your fellow intern cohort. Our hybrid policy is that e mployees are in-office on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Requirements

  • Background in procurement, project management, construction, contracts, renewable energy, cost analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS programs, excellent communications and cross functional collaboration.
  • Successful candidate should be familiar with Intermediate to Advanced uses of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy.

Nice To Haves

  • An interest in using automation tools and LLM’s like Microsoft Copilot to improve processes is a plus.
  • Power BI experience is also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting cost estimating and modeling for Battery Storage equipment, including data analysis and developing strategic rationale
  • Supporting contract review and negotiation for equipment supply and long term service agreements.
  • Developing and supporting procurement specific process improvements to promote efficiency with Microsoft Copilot (or other tools).
  • Supporting the strategic procurement group on projects at hand
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analyses
  • The Strategic Procurement (BESS) Intern will be assigned to an individual project and will present results to the team and leadership at the end of the internship on August 4 th
