About The Position

SoFi is seeking a Strategic Finance Intern to join our Strategic Finance team for Summer 2026. This role exists to support financial visibility, planning, and accountability across SoFi’s G&A functions, including HR, Finance, Legal, Risk & Compliance, IT, and Information Security. As an intern, you will contribute directly to how SoFi plans, budgets, and analyzes its business by building financial models, dashboards, and insights used by senior leaders. You will gain hands-on exposure to financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and executive decision support in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment. This internship is designed to provide meaningful work, mentorship, and practical experience while contributing to SoFi’s mission to help people achieve financial independence. The candidate must be available for the entire internship period: Cohort 1: Monday, June 1st, 2026 to Friday, August 21st, 2026 Cohort 2: Monday, June 15th, 2026 to Friday, September 4th, 2026

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited US-based university (working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field) with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027
  • Must be returning to school for at least one quarter or semester after the internship
  • Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships and research assistant roles)
  • Must be willing to relocate to Cottonwood Heights, UT and be available to work in the Cottonwood Heights and Sandy offices at a hybrid capacity (2-3x a week)
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, including comfort with formulas and data analysis
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to identify, frame, and solve problems where requirements are not fully defined

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or project experience in finance, accounting, consulting, or analytics
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with Workday or HR/financial systems
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial modeling
  • Interest in fintech, technology, or high-growth companies

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial dashboards and reports using Tableau and spreadsheets
  • Pull, analyze, and validate data from Workday to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Assist in creating variable-driven financial models to support budgeting as the company scales
  • Provide analysis and insights to support monthly and quarterly close processes
  • Develop automated and reusable reporting tools that enable efficient executive-level analysis
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and presentations for senior leaders
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis and insight generation where appropriate
