About The Position

HealthStream’s Platform Architecture team is looking for a Developer Intern to join our OneApp Core team for Summer 2026. OneApp is HealthStream’s next-generation microfrontend platform built on Webpack Module Federation, enabling independently deployable micro-applications within a unified shell. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced frontend architects and developers to build production-quality React components, contribute to the shared design system, and help advance our microfrontend architecture that serves thousands of healthcare organizations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
• Familiarity with modern build tools (Webpack, npm/yarn)
• Understanding of responsive design and CSS-in-JS or Tailwind CSS
• Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and commitment to writing clean, maintainable code

Nice To Haves

• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain React components within the OneApp microfrontend architecture using Module Federation
• Contribute to the shared component library and design system used across micro-applications
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily standups with the OneApp Core team
• Collaborate with product owners and architects to translate requirements into technical implementations
• Assist in debugging and resolving frontend performance issues across micro-applications
• Document technical designs, component APIs, and development patterns for team knowledge sharing
• Present internship project findings and learnings to the broader engineering organization
