Essential Duties: The following represents many of the activities of the security team that will be supported by the position, but is not meant to be an all-inclusive nor prevent other activities from being assigned when necessary: Assist in monitoring and analyzing security logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents. Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities. Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices. Assist in reviewing and evaluating security controls to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks. Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation. Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. Support the Information Security team with ad hoc tasks and projects as needed. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of common security technologies such as endpoint protection systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
  • Familiarity with networking, operating systems, and security technologies.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve security goals.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment.
  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Information/Cyber Security, or a related field required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CIS CSC or equivalent security framework a plus.
