About The Position

The Intern/Resident position is designed to provide comprehensive clinical training and hands-on experience in a healthcare setting within the United States. This role serves as a critical phase in the professional development of medical graduates, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world patient care under the supervision of experienced physicians. The major end result of this position is to cultivate competent, confident, and compassionate healthcare professionals who can independently manage patient cases and contribute effectively to multidisciplinary teams. Interns/Residents will engage in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring patients while adhering to established medical protocols and ethical standards. Ultimately, this role prepares candidates for board certification and independent practice by fostering clinical skills, decision-making abilities, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the United States, including passing the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams or equivalent.
  • Completion of all required immunizations and health screenings as per institutional policy.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of medical sciences and clinical practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior clinical experience through externships, clerkships, or volunteer work in healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation software.
  • Demonstrated skills in patient communication and teamwork.
  • Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Research experience or involvement in quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to gather relevant clinical information.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with attending physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as appropriate to the level of training and supervision.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with institutional policies.
  • Participate in daily rounds, case discussions, and educational conferences to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Respond promptly to patient emergencies and provide appropriate interventions under supervision.
  • Engage in continuous learning through self-study, feedback, and mentorship to improve clinical competencies.
  • Adhere strictly to patient confidentiality, safety protocols, and ethical guidelines in all professional activities.
