The intern will assist with workflows at the intersection of organ biology and cutting-edge LC-MS proteomics. The intern will contribute to research exploring of protein expression patterns across organ systems and disease states in animal and human tissues. Day-to-day responsibilities will primarily involve processing organ tissue into individual cells (tissue dissociation) and chemically labeling and isolating proteins of interest for downstream proteomic analysis. Motivated students with interest in AI approaches will contribute to computational modeling of structural homology of proteins across species. The intern will also be expected to prepare samples for LC-MS acquisition and perform basic data analysis and interpretation of experimental results. The work will be high impact in the context of both drug delivery and target discovery for our RNAi medicines. The intern will work as an integrated member of a research team and will have the opportunity to collaborate with larger research teams, attend seminars, and present their work in multiple formats. No prior research experience is required. The ideal candidate is a curious, diligent, and detail-oriented college student who is comfortable applying a complex, multi-step protocol. We are committed to mentorship at every level, and comprehensive training will be provided for all techniques.
