About The Position

Join Our Women’s Health Innovation Team: Chemistry/Biochemistry Summer Internship Are you passionate about science and making a real difference in women’s health? Our team at Hologic is dedicated to developing cutting-edge diagnostic assays and medical devices that help detect and treat diseases early. As a summer intern, you’ll dive into hands-on lab work, learn from industry experts, and help us push the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare—all while working alongside some seriously smart (and friendly!) people. What you’ll be up to during your 10-12 week adventure: Experiment with different modifications to see how they affect the hydrophobicity of oligonucleotides (yes, you’ll get to use big words and cool lab gear). Synthesize oligonucleotides with a variety of modifications—think of it as science with a creative twist. Use HPLC to check out the purity and hydrophobicity of your creations (don’t worry, we’ll show you how). Take charge of experimental design, run tests, analyze results, and keep track of everything you discover. Share your findings with the team and help us make sense of the data—your voice matters here! Requirements

• You can work full-time during the summer (May/June - August/September).
• You’re currently working on your Bachelor’s degree with at least one semester left after the internship.
• Your major is Chemistry or Biochemistry
• You’re heading into your junior or senior year.
• You know how to get your point across, whether you’re writing or speaking.
• Your GPA is at least 3.0 out of 4.0
• You’ve got some experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• You’re curious, a natural problem-solver, and not afraid to ask “why?”
• You’re ready to work onsite at our sunny San Diego campus.
• Heads up: intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends aren’t provided, so you’ll need to have your living situation and transportation sorted out.
