About The Position

Research Intern Summary: The Research Intern will assist the Capital Markets Research staff in updating published research material. The intern’s primary responsibilities will be to collect data, to edit papers, and to fully engage in the process of updating our published material. The Research Intern will work closely with other members of the Capital Markets Research team in carrying out the position’s duties. The position reports to the firm’s Director of Research. Requirements

  • Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and data management skills, including the ability to gather, organize, and coordinate data from disparate sources.
  • Proficient in digital tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Copilot.
  • Solid understanding of economic and investment theory and practices, as well as financial and statistical concepts.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organized work habits, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, with ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate across departments, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Experience writing, publishing, and presenting research.

Responsibilities

  • Fully engage in the process of helping the team publish research material.
  • Finding, collecting, and organizing data from disparate sources, both internal and external, often with limited direction.
  • Collaborating with members of our team and other departments to locate data and other source materials.
  • Analyzing data from a statistical, economic or financial lens.
  • Creating outlines and first drafts, as well as proofreading and making edits to later drafts of research papers.
  • Taking the lead on updating both the data and content of older research papers.
  • Translating complex financial concepts into clear, accessible materials suitable for both technical audiences and the average investor.
  • Turning research papers into PowerPoints and potentially other forms of media as determined by our Communications team.
  • Keep current on the economy and financial markets to be well versed on trends that could be potential research topics.
